Description
These Crispy Air Fryer Churro Bites offer incredible flavor and a satisfying crunch without the mess of deep-frying. Quick to prepare, they make for the perfect homemade dessert or snack anytime.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For Coating: 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1-2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Oil spray (neutral-flavored)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, 1 tbsp sugar, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, then remove. Immediately add flour and stir vigorously until a smooth ball of dough forms. Return to low heat; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes to dry dough.
- Transfer dough to a mixing bowl. Let cool for 5-10 minutes. Add vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated and dough is smooth and glossy.
- Fit a piping bag with a large star tip. Transfer dough to the bag. Pipe 2-inch churro bites onto parchment paper or directly into the air fryer basket.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray basket and churro bites with oil. Air fry in batches for 8-12 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
- While churros are frying, combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Immediately after air frying, toss hot churros in cinnamon sugar until coated. Serve warm with dipping sauce.
