Description
Craft the ultimate breakfast experience with these divine flaky croissant breakfast sandwiches. Easy to assemble, these sandwiches feature perfectly cooked eggs, melty cheese, and your choice of breakfast meat, all cradled in a golden, buttery croissant.
Ingredients
- 1 large croissant, fresh
- 2 large eggs
- 1 slice (1 oz) cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, American)
- 2–3 slices cooked bacon, 1 cooked sausage patty, or 2 slices cooked ham
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1/4 avocado, sliced; handful fresh spinach; hot sauce
- A tiny splash of milk or cream (for scrambled eggs)
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Croissant: Carefully slice croissant horizontally with a serrated knife, leaving a small hinge. Lightly toast cut sides in a dry skillet or toaster oven for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- 2. Cook Eggs: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. If scrambling, whisk eggs with milk, salt, and pepper, then pour into pan, stirring until fluffy. For fried, crack egg directly into pan and cook to your liking. Season as desired.
- 3. Cook Meat: Cook bacon until crispy, sausage until browned, or warm sliced ham in the same pan. Drain any excess grease.
- 4. Assemble: Place cooked egg on bottom croissant half. Immediately top with cheese slice to melt. Add cooked meat and any optional add-ins like avocado or spinach. Close with top half of croissant. Serve immediately.
