Description
Perfectly roasted asparagus spears infused with garlic, wrapped in crispy, smoky bacon. This irresistible side dish is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch (about 1 lb) medium-thick asparagus, woody ends trimmed
- 8–12 slices regular or thin-cut bacon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon brown sugar or maple syrup for glaze
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, or place a wire rack on top.
- In a bowl, toss trimmed asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. If using, add brown sugar/maple syrup.
- Take 2-3 asparagus spears and wrap a slice of bacon snugly around them from bottom to top. Repeat with remaining asparagus and bacon.
- Arrange bundles in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring space between them.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender-crisp. Flip halfway through if desired.
- For extra crispness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully to prevent burning. Serve immediately.
