High-Protein Honey Garlic Shrimp

  • Total Time: 47 minute
  • Yield: 2-3 servings

Description

Quickly sear juicy shrimp and coat them in a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic glaze. This easy recipe delivers maximum flavor in minimal time.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large raw shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails on or off)
  • 1 tbsp oil (avocado, vegetable, or canola)
  • For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ¼½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • For Garnish:
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or green onions, chopped

Instructions

  • 1. Prep Shrimp: Thaw shrimp if frozen. Peel and devein, then pat very dry with paper towels.
  • 2. Make Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using) until smooth.
  • 3. Sear Shrimp: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until opaque pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • 4. Glaze Shrimp: Reduce heat to medium. Pour sauce into the skillet. Simmer, whisking constantly, for 1-2 minutes until thickened and glossy. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another minute to meld flavors.
  • 5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley or green onions, and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
