Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1/2 lb ground pork (optional, but highly recommended)
- 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, ground pork (if using), breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
- Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned and partially cooked.
- While meatballs bake, whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and sauce slightly thickens (3-5 minutes).
- Remove meatballs from oven, transfer to a large bowl, and pour glaze over them. Toss gently to coat.
- Return glazed meatballs to the baking sheet. Bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until glaze is sticky, bubbly, and fully cooked through.
