These irresistibly sticky and tender Brown Sugar Meatball Bites are the perfect sweet and savory appetizer for any occasion. Each juicy meatball is coated in a glistening, caramelized brown sugar glaze that’s guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1/2 lb ground pork (optional, but highly recommended)
  • 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, ground pork (if using), breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
  • Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned and partially cooked.
  • While meatballs bake, whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and sauce slightly thickens (3-5 minutes).
  • Remove meatballs from oven, transfer to a large bowl, and pour glaze over them. Toss gently to coat.
  • Return glazed meatballs to the baking sheet. Bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until glaze is sticky, bubbly, and fully cooked through.
  • Serve hot with toothpicks.
