Ingredients
- 3–4 medium ripe bananas (yellow with some brown spots)
- 1–2 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Peel bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds (1/8 to 1/4 inch thick) using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer.
- In a medium bowl, gently toss the banana slices with melted coconut oil. If using, add maple syrup/honey and cinnamon, tossing until evenly coated.
- Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring no pieces overlap.
- Bake for 1.5 to 3 hours, flipping the chips every 30-45 minutes. Continue baking until they are golden brown, firm, and crispy. (They will crisp up further upon cooling).
- Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring to an airtight container.
