Ingredients
- 3 ripe medium Hass avocados
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (from 1–2 limes)
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 jalapeño, finely minced (seeds and membrane removed for less heat, more for extra spice)
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, or to taste
- Optional: 1/4 cup finely diced Roma tomato (seeds removed)
- Optional: 1 tiny clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Prep Avocados: Cut avocados in half, remove seeds, and scoop flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash: Mash about two-thirds of the avocado with a fork or potato masher until creamy, leaving some lumps. Add remaining un-mashed avocado chunks.
- Combine: Add red onion, cilantro, minced jalapeño, and lime juice to the bowl.
- Season: Sprinkle with salt. Gently fold all ingredients together.
- Taste & Adjust: Taste and adjust salt, lime, or spice as needed until perfect. Serve immediately or store properly.
