Ingredients
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1–2 Black tea bags or 1 heaping teaspoon loose-leaf black tea
- 1 fresh organic orange (for zest and juice)
- 1 cinnamon stick (approx. 2–3 inches)
- 1/2 cup milk or dairy-free alternative (whole milk, oat milk recommended)
- 1–2 teaspoons sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or sugar), to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Orange: Thoroughly wash the orange. Zest about half the orange, avoiding the white pith. Extract 1-2 tablespoons of fresh orange juice from the zested half. Set both aside.
- Infuse Tea & Spices: In a small saucepan, combine water, orange zest, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat, add tea bags/loose leaves, cover, and steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
- Strain & Combine: Strain the tea mixture into a mug, discarding the zest, cinnamon stick, and tea leaves. Add the fresh orange juice, milk, and sweetener to the strained tea. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Serve: Serve your Orange Cinnamon Milk Tea hot, garnished with an orange slice or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. For iced tea, let the tea base cool completely before adding milk and sweetener, then pour over ice.
