Ingredients
- 1 baguette, sliced 1/2-inch thick
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 8 oz flank steak (or sirloin)
- 1 tbsp cooking oil (canola, grapeseed)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened (or goat cheese)
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Optional: Flaky sea salt, balsamic glaze for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Crostini: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush baguette slices with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Bake for 8-12 minutes until golden and crisp. Cool.
- 2. Cook Steak: Pat steak dry, season with salt and pepper. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear steak 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let rest 5-10 minutes, then thinly slice against the grain.
- 3. Prepare Topping: Combine softened cream cheese, chives, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- 4. Assemble & Serve: Spread herb cheese onto each cooled crostini. Top with sliced steak. Garnish with extra chives or balsamic glaze if desired. Serve immediately.
